About Rid-A-Pest Inc.

Providing Home & Commercial Pest Control Since 1972

Clyde Leslie “Les” Smith founded Rid-A-Pest Inc. in 1972 in the garage behind his Wilson, NC, home after becoming one of North Carolina State University’s (NCSU) first graduates in the university’s Urban and Industrial Pest Control program. As the son of a world-renowned entomologist and head of NCSU’s Entomology Department, Les knew he wanted to pursue a career related to insects and management. Two of Les’s sons, Jamie and Lee, now own and operate Rid-A-Pest Inc. after purchasing the family business in 2013. Lee and Jamie maintain the core values of quality service, fair prices, and trust at Rid-A-Pest Inc. today.
